Product Guide

This guide will help you get started with managing products in the store.

Variants and Options

An option is a property of a product that can have different values. For example, a product can have a size option with the values small, medium and large.

A variant is a combination of options. For example, a product can have a variant with the size small and the color red.

Each variant can have a different price and stock level.

Add a New Product

  1. Go to the products section of the admin portal.
  2. Click on the New Product button in the top right corner.
  3. Set a title and subtitle for the product.
  4. You don't have to set the handle, this will be automatically generated. If you do, make sure you don't use spaces or special characters.
  5. Fill in the description with more details of the product.
  6. Open the variants section
    1. Add a new option (e.g. size)
    2. Add variations of the option (e.g. small, medium, large)
    3. (Optional) add another option (e.g. color)
    4. Click on "Add a variant" and select the options for the variant.
      1. Scroll down to "Stock & Inventory" and set the "Quantity in stock".
      2. Scroll down and enable the "Allow backorders" if the product should be avaialable despite being out of stock.
      3. Save and close.
    5. (Optional) add other variants
  7. Go down to the Media section and add images for the product. A thumbnail will be automatically generated from the first image. If you want another image for the thumbnail, set it in this section above.
  8. Click on "Save as draft" in the top.
  9. Go down to the Variants section again and click on the three dots, and then "Edit Prices"
  10. Set the prices for each variant. It shows to the far right.
  11. Click on "Save and close"
  12. When ready, publish the product by going back to the products page (where all products are shown) and clicking on the three dots on the product. Then click on "Publish".
  13. Verify that the product is published by going to the store and searching for the product.
